2020 marks the 40th Anniversary of IFMA. How time flies. All of us are getting older but we are also living longer than ever before. According to Statistics Canada, men now live an additional 18.1 years while women 20.1 years. Human longevity has caused major concerns all over the world regarding the needs of the aging population, impacting the way we live and the way facilities are designed. However, it also opens up opportunities and possibilities for all of us. “Successful Aging” is a technical term now used by gerontology. Recent research provides wellness solutions for successful aging and we are now able to prevent and even reverse life-burden illnesses. Drawing from my upcoming book with Alvin Kelly MD, this session addresses the reality of aging and how we are able to use our FM experience to develop a Strategic Life Plan for our personal lives and professional careers.
