Energy Star

United States government program created in 1992 by the US Environmental Protection Agency in an attempt to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. For many types of existing buildings, you can rate energy performance on a scale of 1-100 relative to similar buildings nationwide. Buildings rating 75 or greater may qualify for the ENERGY STAR.
