Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)

Legislation enacted in 1976 that governs the handling of solid and hazardous waste in the United States. It is called a cradle-to-grave regulation because it imposes technical requirements for the handling, packaging, transporting, treatment, and disposal of solid and hazardous waste from the origin of the waste until the disposal.
